Question 1A
Can I submit artwork to your magazine?
Every artist that's submitted to the first issue of the magazine was hand-picked and invited by me, Jesse. Ever since the first issue was released, I've been getting tons of e-mails from people asking if they could submit their work. If you'd really like to contribute, please send a brief description of yourself and a link to your portfolio to jesse@humili.com. There's no guarantee that you'll be published, but I will review all of your work for sure. I don't like to reject people, so you just won't get a reply if you didn't make the cut - sorry!
Question 1B
What kind of artists are you looking for?
All sorts of artists - traditional artists, digital artists, photographers, graphic designers, sculpters, sandwich artists... Anyone as long as they're talented and original. Right now, we're especially looking for talented writers. If you want to write up an article or two about whatever, please send them in! Sorry, but we're not accepting audio or video at this time.
Question 2A
What does "Honey Eat Your Salad" mean?
The word "salad" is a metaphor for creativity and the word "honey" makes it a bit more childish. It works because the magazine consists of artwork by young creative people. Yeah, it's so deep!
Question 2B
The name sucks, why don't you change it?
No, you suck.
Question 3
What's Honey Eat Your Salad's future? Where is it heading?
Not sure yet. It all depends on how well the magazine does in the next few issues. H.E.Y.S. apparel would be neat though, people can never get enough of nice t-shirts! Interviewing strangers on the street would be cool too.
Question 4
How can I help?
You can help by spreading the word about Honey Eat Your Salad. Blogging about it, talking about it with your friends at parties, showing your mom, and writing the URL on your school's chalk boards are top choices.
